West Ham United: Jarrod Bowen in ‘anxious wait’ over England Euro 2024 place after Belgium draw
West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen faces an “anxious wait” over a potential place at Euro 2024 with England.
That is according to BBC Sport journalist Phil McNulty, who was impressed by Bowen in the draw with Belgium.
The winger started and played 80 minutes in the 2-2 friendly draw at Wembley on Tuesday (26 March), with VAR denying him a first Three Lions goal.
“West Ham United forward Bowen was another England stand-out performer, but he faces an anxious wait to see whether he can force his way into the squad in a position where there is so much competition,” McNulty wrote for BBC Sport (26 March).
Will West Ham star Jarrod Bowen make the England Euro 2024 squad?
England boss Southgate has a lot of big calls to make regarding his Euro 2024 squad, and Bowen will undoubtedly feature heavily in his mind.
The winger was on form in the international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, having been given just over 20 minutes from the bench in the former clash, also at Wembley.
He is, however, up against a long list of very talented attackers who are all vying for a spot in Southgate’s squad for the major tournament.
The likes of Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Tottenham’s James Maddison and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins will perhaps all be fighting it out with Bowen for an attacking spot.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Manchester City’s Jack Grealish and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford are also on the scene, with the likes of Bayern Munich hero Harry Kane, Manchester City star Phil Foden and Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka certain to have already booked their seats to Germany.
