West Ham United: Jarrod Bowen development emerges on Tuesday for England

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen is set to be handed the opportunity to impress Gareth Southgate in the England friendly clash with Belgium, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via its website on 26 March that Bowen could be given a chance to start on the left-hand side, with the boss set to make widespread changes to his team.

Ivan Toney, Kobbie Mainoo, Ezri Konsa and Lewis Dunk could also be included in the starting lineup with Southgate assessing his options in the last break before the European Championships this summer.

With the West Ham star looking likely to receive a chance to impress the boss, this could be treated as his audition for the squad this summer, with Southgate surveying his options ahead of a huge decision he will have to make.

Frank McAvennie has recently tipped Bowen to be in the England squad for the European Championships in Germany, insisting he has been “brilliant” this season and thoroughly deserves the call based on his performances at the London Stadium.

With England set to face Belgium, and the likes of Saka and Kane both ruled out through injuries, Bowen could be handed his opportunity to impress Southgate and make certain of his position in the squad this summer.

Playing on the left-hand side for England will not be completely familiar to the star who has largely played his football on the right or through the middle this season, but Southgate will want him to prove his versatility.
