West Ham United January transfer ‘gamble’ for Ibrahim Osman ‘out of control’ amid new update
Sources close to West Ham United have admitted that their January “gamble” for Ibrahim Osman became “completely out of control” before collapsing, according to Claret and Hugh.
The outlet reported on its website on Monday (29 January) that the deal for the Nordsaelland winger will not happen during the January window as things currently stand, despite it appearing to be close to completion only a matter of days ago.
An agency issue arose during negotiations, with two different representatives claiming they were covering the winger’s interests that the source close to the club has suggested made a deal “impossible” to reach.
“It all got completely out of control. Both the agents’ demands and those of the club, were too high for a player who won’t be ready for six to 12 months anyway and was always going to be a gamble,” he said.
“The player is in dispute with an ex-agent agent as well so it all became impossible to get the deal done!”
Out of control
It had seemed as though West Ham and David Moyes were finally close to adding to their frontline this month after plenty of January transfer speculation with a number of different attacking options.
However, it seems very unlikely that the Hammers will make a move for Osman again this month, as all the factors involved in the deal have made it almost impossible to complete before the transfer deadline on Thursday (1 February).

While missing out in such a fashion will be incredibly frustrating for supporters, it may be best in the long run that the Irons didn’t become involved with a player who obviously has plenty of things going on behind the scenes.
Hopefully, Moyes and his entourage at the London Stadium will be able to find an alternative option and secure their signature in the final knockings of the window.
