West Ham United: James Ward-Prowse on Gareth Southgate radar amid Kalvin Phillips concerns
West Ham star James Ward-Prowse is on the radar of England manager Gareth Southgate, according to the Daily Mail.
The publication reported on its website on Monday (19 February) that his displays are being followed ahead of the matches against Brazil and Belgium.
The Daily Mail added that Southgate is considering Ward-Prowse due to concerns about the form of his Hammers teammate Kalvin Phillips.
West Ham star Ward-Prowse to return to England setup?
Phillips has had a really tough time lately, with the midfielder moving to East London on loan last month in order to regain the form that saw him earn a move from Leeds United to Manchester City.
But his struggles on the pitch have continued at the London Stadium, with the loanee giving away goals and being sent off in his brief time at the club so far.
In stark contrast, his fellow Hammers midfielder Ward-Prowse has been superb under manager David Moyes since joining from Southampton last summer.
His displays ought to result in a return to the England squad, with the midfielder having been omitted from recent squads, despite his constant impressive performances at club level.
Ward-Prowse’s absence for the Three Lions has largely been due to the presence of Phillips, who Southgate has continued to select despite his issues.

It will certainly be an interesting situation to keep tabs on, with England meeting Brazil and Belgium in friendly clashes next month.
