West Ham United interest in Armando Broja could open the door for Sonny Perkins departure

West Ham United joining the race for Armando Broja could leave the door open for Leeds United linked Sonny Perkins to depart the London Stadium.

The Daily Mail revealed on Monday [6 June], that David Moyes has joined the race for the Chelsea striker and this could mean he is more willing to let Perkins depart the London Stadium.

As revealed by The Athletic [2 June], Leeds United are looking to add the youngster to their impressive group of young players and perhaps a move is now more likely.

West Ham

Perkins will undoubtedly want to be playing first team football more regularly and with news of Broja’s potential incoming, Moyes may be more inclined to let the England under-18 leave the club.

Perkins has been impressive for the Hammers under-23 side this season with 12 goals in PL2 Division one whilst also featuring for the Hammers’ first team.

It would be a shame if Moyes was to let the youngster leave the London Stadium but there also needs to be a realisation that there needs to be immediate and adequate competition for Michail Antonio.

Broja would provide that after gaining much-needed first team experience whilst on loan at Southampton.

Sadly for Perkins, he has only featured twice for the Irons and it will be hard to see Moyes entrust the youngster to provide the competition that is needed upfront.

West Ham

It is likely that Moyes will have to move players out of the club to complete the overhaul that is required at the London Stadium this summer.

It would not be a shock to see the youngster make the move to Yorkshire and join Jesse Marsch’s side.
