David Moyes reveals West Ham United injury scare ahead of Manchester United clash

Jarrod Bowen missed West Ham United’s UEFA Europa Conference League win over Silkeborg on Thursday night due to a concern over an ankle injury.

Bowen has found a return to form in recent West Ham outings, scoring three goals in the Hammers previous seven games.

Moyes confessed that the club will assess Bowen’s injury on Friday and he didn’t know yet if he would be able to feature against Manchester United.

“Jarrod Bowen had a bit of an ankle injury,” Moyes said as quoted by Football London.

“I will asses it tomorrow, see how he is. I don’t know yet, I don’t think it’s too bad but we will see tomorrow.”

Finding form.

Despite a poor start to the campaign, Bowen was starting to find some form for the Irons and was slowly but surely becoming their best player again.

With the extent of his injury yet to be fully confirmed by the club or Moyes, Hammers will have to wait anxiously over whether Bowen will be back soon or not.

The England international will be a big miss however, and it’s made even more annoying by the fact he was starting to show glimpses of his previous season’s exploits.

Bowen was in sensational form for the Hammers last season, bagging 18 goals and 13 assists in 51 appearances.

And whilst this might be tough form to replicate, anything close to it will be seen as a solid campaign from the winger.

The fresh injury also seems to end all hope Bowen has of gaining a spot in England’s World Cup squad, although, he was already on the fringes anyway.
