West Ham United injury news as Kurt Zouma trains alone, doubt for Olympiacos clash
West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma is a doubt for Thursday’s Europa League clash against Olympiacos as David Moyes confirms he trained alone away from the main group.
The senior French defender missed last week’s Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal and the weekend’s Premier League defeat to Brentford after a minor knee problem.
And Moyes, speaking in his press conference (8 November), ahead of the clash with the Greek giants on 9 November confirmed that Zouma trained away from the main group and will continue to be assessed ahead of the game.

Poor in his absence
Zouma’s absence against Brentford at the weekend was keenly felt as the Hammers were disastrous at the back without his presence and leadership.
The Frenchman has proven one of the best performers at the club for a long while, but despite his form dip in recent weeks, he still possesses the class to lead his teammates even in difficult moments as they’re in now.

It’s now six games in all competitions without a win for Moyes and his team and another loss against Olympiacos on Thursday and Nottingham Forest on Sunday could lead to a very toxic atmosphere within the fanbase.
How they plan to do that without Zouma will be critical and Moyes will be praying the Frencham is ready and available for Sunday’s game against a buoyant Forest.
Nayef Aguerd has been incredibly poor this season, whilst Konstantinos Mavropanos is still being eased into action by Moyes despite his poor showing against Brentford.
Meanwhile, Angelo Ogbonna seems to be completely done at this level and Thilo Kehrer is far from reliable which certainly means that they simply cannot afford to lose Zouma right now. They need him back ASAP.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have already moved to secure a new midfield transfer.
