West Ham United injury news as fresh Jarrod Bowen update emerges
West Ham are hoping Jarrod Bowen will be fit to face Sheffield United on Sunday (21 January), according to Jacob Steinberg.
The Guardian journalist tweeted the update on Monday (15 January) as the England international looks for a swift return to action after picking up an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw against Bristol City on 7 January.
The 27-year-old winger will miss the FA Cup third-round replay against the Championship side on Tuesday (16 January), but he could be back in the Hammers side for the trip to Bramall Lane after there had previously been fears that he could face a longer period on the sidelines.
Relief
This latest update on Bowen will come as a huge relief to everyone associated with West Ham after there were major concerns that he could have been out for months.
That isn’t going to be the case, though, as the winger could return against Sheffield United and provide his side with a boost heading into that game.
Although it’s a shame to not have him available for the replay against Bristol City, you would like to think that other players can step up in his absence and get us through to the fourth round.

The players in question are the likes of Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma and Danny Ings, who have all struggled to find any form when handed opportunities this season.
With Lucas Paqueta also missing through injury and Mohammed Kudus away with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations, there are places up for grabs in our attack if any of the aforementioned players can do the business at Ashton Gate.
In other West Ham news, the club are eyeing a move for a player on £200,000 a week.
