West Ham United: Danny Ings given injection to speed up recovery from knee injury

West Ham United forward Danny Ings has been given an injection to speed up his recovery from a knee injury, according to the Sun.

Ings suffered the injury on his Hammers debut against Everton having only signed for the club just days before in a disastrous turn of events.

The report claims medical staff are now waiting to assess the £15m strikers’ reaction to the injection and will know more in the next 24 hours.

“Danny Ings has been given a jab in his injured knee to speed up his recovery,” as quoted by the Sun.

Fingers crossed.

Fingers and toes will be crossed alongside the Hammers medical staff in this one, hopefully, Ings can return to action sooner, rather than later.

The forward’s injury sums up the club’s season so far, one which has been extremely disappointing after the last few campaigns under David Moyes.

Signing a player to help your fight against relegation, for him to only go and get injured in his debut for the club is the stuff of nightmares.

At least we know that the Irons medical staff are working hard to get Ings back on the pitch as soon as possible and this is all fans can hope for right now.

With deadline day looming, the club look no closer to signing any other striking alternatives, meaning that Moyes and co are likely hedging their bets on Ings, Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca.

Having all three fit and firing will leave West Ham United extremely comfortable up top, but when this will happen remains to be seen.

Up next for West Ham United is an FA Cup clash against Derby County followed by a tough trip to St James’ Park to face a formidable Newcastle outfit.
