West Ham United incoming update on Deadline Day as Maxwel Cornet to Crystal Palace could see triple exit – Jacob Steinberg
West Ham are pushing to get a winger in on loan before the transfer deadline shuts with three attackers potentially leaving, according to Jacob Steinberg.
The Guardian journalist reported via Twitter on 1 February that the Irons could still see Maxwel Cornet head to Crystal Palace on Deadline Day, on top of more advanced exits for Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals.
The former is now “close” to a Lyon move, having now travelled for his medical, while the latter is being pushed for by Real Betis, but the Irons want a replacement for the attacking trio.
Steinberg wrote: “West Ham continuing talks over potential outgoings. Benrahma close to Lyon on loan, Real Betis pushing for Pablo Fornals, Maxwel Cornet to Palace not ruled out. West Ham trying to get a winger on loan.”

If the Irons do see all three of the attacking incumbents leave before the window shuts they will have managed to shift a host of seemingly unwanted options.
That in itself has been looking far easier said than done in recent weeks, but it would be a surprise to see them all go without any replacements confidently lined up.
Both Ibrahim Osman and Jota looked like they were set to be part of the new generation of Hammers forwards in recent weeks before deals for both collapsed despite each being up for the move to East London.
So West Ham are surely going to need to get at least one attacking loan through the door for Cornet to follow Benrahma and Fornals out.
David Moyes looked like he was stuck heading into the window between wanting new options going forward but needing to shift players to make space, and it looks like he might have one half of that equation lined up now without the other.
At least Jarrod Bowen’s injury hasn’t proven to be serious and Mohammed Kudus is set to arrive back from the Africa Cup of Nations, but numbers would be light if three went out with only one, or even none, arriving in their place.
In other West Ham news, a deadline-busting bid for a striker the Hammers have wanted for months has been tipped to be put on the table.
