West Ham United in the hunt to sign Spezia Calcio defender Jakub Kiwior
West Ham are still in the hunt to sign Spezia Calcio defender Jakub Kiwior in the summer transfer window, according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Italian website reported on 26 September that the Hammers are still keen on the 22-year-old defender after narrowly missing out on him in the summer transfer window.
They are likely to face strong competition from Serie A giants AC Milan for his signature.

Interesting
The Polish defender looks like a terrific talent, and he would have been a cracking signing for the club.
During the summer window, the Hammers spent a lot of money on new players, with Moyes adding new faces at the back.
The club spent big on Nayef Aguerd who picked up an injury in pre-season, and he is most likely to return after the World Cup.
The Hammers also added Thilo Kehrer from Paris Saint-Germain, and he has adapted well so far.

David Moyes does have plenty of options at his disposal, but the central defence is one area that needs attention in the upcoming transfer windows.
Angelo Ogbonna has only a year left on his present deal and he is likely to leave the club next summer. Likewise, Craig Dawson could be allowed to move on as early as January.
Thus, a new defender is needed, and Kiwior would be a solid addition. Milan could be an attractive destination as they can offer him European football, but the Hammers must give it a fight.
