West Ham United in pursuit of Aston Villa striker Danny Ings as Everton approach made
West Ham want to add a new striker to their ranks and have earmarked Aston Villa striker Danny Ings as an option, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Ings, 30, is being wanted by Everton and Southampton as well, with the Toffees already making a loan approach to sign him.
The Mail (5 January, page 70) reports that Villa will only allow Ings to leave the club on a permanent deal after they rejected the loan offer from Everton.

Make sense
West Ham spent heavily in the summer transfer window but the results have not come their way.
The club sit just above the relegation zone and the Hammers could look to bolster their squad again.
David Moyes spent big on signing Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca in the summer window, but he has managed only three goals in the Premier League thus far.
The Hammers, in general, have struggled to score freely, and Moyes, therefore, is looking to sign an experienced Premier League striker who is a natural finisher.

Ings has managed six goals in eight starts for Villa this season, and his records for other clubs he has played are enviable.
He scored 46 goals in 100 games for Southampton and another 43 goals in 130 games for Burnley, which shows what a fantastic striker he is.
The former Liverpool striker has a contract at the club until 2024, and Villa therefore will sell him on a permanent deal only.
The Hammers will benefit from signing an experienced and proven goalscorer like Ings, but they are expected to face strong competition for his signature.
