West Ham United in frame to sign Armando Broja as £50m January transfer update emerges from Chelsea
West Ham target Armando Broja has been valued at £50million by Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported on its print edition (page 69, 18 January) that the Hammers are one of several Premier League clubs interested in the striker.
Fulham are monitoring developments with the 22-year-old, while Wolves are also still in the frame for his signature.

Broja has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in that time.
Expensive
A pricetag of £50million seems like a lot of money for a player who is struggling to make an impact in an underperforming Chelsea side.
The Albanian’s 17 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s men this season amount to just 617 minutes of football, with the striker having started just six of the club’s 21 Premier League matches. With that in mind, there is not a lot to suggest that he is worth the kind of money Chelsea are asking for.

His time on loan with Southampton wasn’t much more promising, as he scored just nine goals in 38 outings for the south coast club, and David Moyes would perhaps be expecting a bit more for that kind of money.
He is still only 22, with over four years left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge, which might go some way to explaining why he has been valued so highly, but it still doesn’t seem the wisest of investments.
A cruciate ligament tear kept him out for a large part of the previous campaign, which is a concerning sign for a player so young. As a result, West Ham may be better off searching elsewhere in the market if they want value for their money.
In other West Ham news, the club are ones to “keep an eye on” in the pursuit of one Premier League outcast.
