West Ham United in advanced talks to sign Gianluca Scamacca
West Ham United are in “advanced” talks to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
The Italian journalist, who also works for Gazzetta dello Sport, wrote on his personal Twitter account on 12 July that the Hammers have tabled an offer in the region of £33.4 million, plus £6 million in bonuses.
Negotiations are ongoing at the moment, with French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also keen to secure the signature of the Roma-born centre-forward.
Pedulla tweeted: “40 million [Euros] plus 7 bonus. Affair [negotiation] in an advanced state.”
Massive addition
Pedulla is a reliable journalist, and the news has been backed up by several other journalists like Gianluca Di Marzio.
If the Hammers can secure a deal for the 23-year-old, it would represent one hell of a signing.
Scamacca is a class player. Not only the Irons would be signing a striker, but they would be landing a quality player if they can beat PSG in the race.
In the past couple of seasons, Scamacca has really impressed with his all-round displays and has made seven appearances for the Italy national team as well.

Last season (2021-22), the former Jong PSV player scored 16 goals for the club in 38 games.
He has shown his quality in big games, scoring against the two Milan teams last season.
The Hammers have made some fantastic signings so far, but Scamacca would be a blockbuster addition for them.
Pedulla has reported on his website (12 July) that West Ham are close to securing a deal for the striker, and this is really exciting stuff.
