West Ham United in advanced talks to sign Danny Ings from Aston Villa, permanent deal lined up
West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Aston Villa striker Danny Ings, with discussions taking place over a permanent deal this month, according to Sky Sports News.
The 30-year-old has been a bit-part player for the Villans for much of the campaign starting just eight of their 19 Premier League games, with Ollie Watkins the preferred choice up front.
Ings has still managed six league goals though, making him the Villa’s top scorer this season, and Hammers boss David Moyes will feel he needs his experience and quality in front of goal to turn their fortunes around.

And according to Sky Sports News, [18 January, 23:50] West Ham are in talks over a permanent deal for the Premier League goal-getter after the club had a £17.7m bid [16 January] for FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi rejected.
One source has reportedly told Sky Sports that the French outfit would accept the bid but Moffi is unsure about joining the Hammers this month, with other French clubs interested.
Get Ings
If Moyes had a choice of which striker to pick out of Ings and Moffi, it should surely be the former Southampton striker.
The 30-year-old is an experienced and seasoned Premier League striker, one who holds a unique and underrated knack of scoring goals, and that’s what the Hammers desperately need this season.

Moyes’ men have only registered 15 Premier League goals in 19 games this season, which is a poor return. Summer signing Gianluca Scamacca has struggled to hit the target consistently while Michail Antonio’s form has dropped considerably.
It is clear Moyes needs a striker he can rely on to hit the back of the net and more importantly get the East London outfit’s season back on track, as they currently sit in the relegation zone at the time of writing.
Ings is that man for the Hammers, seeing as he’s got 68 Premier League goals to his name as well as the desperate need to play regularly as he is hitting his prime years. A potential move to West Ham can be seen as a match made in heaven.
