West Ham United hopeful Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are fit to play Premier League clash v Liverpool

West Ham United are hopeful that first-team duo Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio will be fit to play in the upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers continued their recent return to form with a totally dominant 4-0 win against Bournemouth on Sunday (23 April) but face a much sterner test when Liverpool travel to the London Stadium on Wednesday (26 April).

Despite the comprehensive win, first-half goalscorer Paqueta and Antonio both took knocks and were substituted off for Flynn Downes and Danny Ings.

Brutal schedule

When Antonio and Paqueta went off with knocks against Bournemouth, it looked as though the club’s brutal schedule could finally have been playing catch up on them, but by the looks of things, these aren’t serious issues.

Both attackers continued their flying form from the midweek win over Gent with stunning displays against the Cherries and finding the back of the net early on.

Paqueta, in particular, has been a shining light of the West Ham United mini-revival in the last fortnight, with Moyes waxing lyrical about the playmaker following the win on the south coast.

After a disappointing campaign, it finally feels as though the Hammers are getting the most out of their club-record signing, and hopefully, this upturn in form can continue going into the final weeks of the season.

Moyes’ side will have to be at their very best to take anything out of the upcoming clash against Liverpool, with the Reds looking like they are starting to re-discover the form that has made them one of Europe’s most feared teams over recent years.
