West Ham United hierarchy determined to sign Thilo Kehrer, Attila Szalai double deal on cards

The West Ham United hierarchy are determined to seal the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer, according to Ryan Taylor.

It is reported by the Express journalist that the Irons are expected to raise their offer for the German international after an initial £10million bid was waved away.

David Moyes and GSBK could still push for a double defender transfer though, with talks held over Fenerbahce enforcer Attila Szalai, who can also play at left-back.

Writing in his latest column for the Express, Taylor shared the latest news with a double deal potentially now on the cards at the London Stadium.

“West Ham remain in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for Thilo Kehrer after the Ligue 1 champions rejected an opening proposal from the Irons,” he wrote,

“The London Stadium hierarchy remain determined to strike an agreement for the German international defender, although they will have to raise their offer.

“The club have also held talks over move for Fenerbahce defender Attila Szalai, who is deemed capable of playing at both centre-back and left-back.

“It’s understood that West Ham’s pursuit of Kehrer is not directly related to their interest in Szalai and signing both players is not out of the equation.”

Get it done.

This is desperately needed for West Ham United.

With Issa Diop leaving for Fulham and the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna all ruled out, reinforcements, multiple, are needed.

Kurt Zouma is the only remaining fit central option, and Ben Johnson was forced to finish the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City alongside him on the opening weekend.

Moyes will be tearing his hair out over his luck, with some of the injuries just impossible to believe like Aguerd in that pre-season clash at Rangers.

Szalai and Kehrer would bring immense experience to the side and that much-needed versatility, and it may only cost GSBK under £30million.

These are certainly two to watch in the coming days, with the chances of one arriving before the trip to Nottingham Forest now looking very slim.

Over to you, GSBK – it’s time to get to work and get these both done.
