West Ham United have held discussions with Sassuolo over midfielder Giacomo Raspadori
West Ham United have held discussions with Sassuolo over the potential transfer for 22-year-old midfielder Giacomo Raspadori according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
The Hammers have reportedly bid £33.7million for Raspadori’s teammate Gianluca Scamacca as revealed by Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday 12 July (via his personal website).
It has since been suggested by Taylor that the Hammers are eyeing a double swoop with Raspadori’s name “also mentioned in club-to-club discussions”.
Raspadori has scored 10 goals in Serie A in the 2021/22 campaign and has been capped 13 times by Italy scoring three times.
Can they pull it off?
This would be a truly sensational double signing for West Ham if they can pull it off this summer.
Both players are consistently featuring on the international stage and have performed in Serie A over the past year.
Scamacca and Raspadori are both young and performing at a high level now which can only bode well for the Hammers at present.
A move for Scamacca has to be the priority at the moment for the club hierarchy with a striker desperately needed at the London Stadium this summer.

Whether Sassuolo would be willing to let two of their most influential players depart the club remains to be seen but this is certainly an ambitious move by the Hammers’ hierarchy.
The Hammers have been long-time admirers of Armando Broja but a move for Scamacca should certainly be top of their list.
22-year-old Raspadori would provide more competition in West Ham’s attacking midfield which could be needed if the likes of Manuel Lanzini or Said Benrahma leave the club this summer.
