West Ham United handed injury boost as Maxwel Cornet returns to training – report
ExWHUemployee provided West Ham fans with some good news on Sunday after reporting that Maxwel Cornet had returned to training.
Cornet joined the Hammers for £17.5million in the summer, but the 26-year-old has spent most of his time in east London recovering from injury.
The Ivorian winger has made just five Premier League appearances this season but will hope to play a much bigger part in the second half of West Ham’s season after returning from injury.

Thankfully, it seems his return isn’t too far away with ExWHUemployee suggesting that he should be fit for the Boxing Day clash against Arsenal provided he steers clear of any more setbacks.
Via West Ham Way, Ex said: “He has resumed training and is looking like he will be available for the Arsenal game assuming there are no further setbacks between now and then.
“Remember the club has three friendlies to play before then so I guess things could change but assuming they don’t then it will be great to have him back!”
More firepower
While West Ham have been incredible in Europe, they’ve massively struggled to find any sort of rhythm in the Premier League.
The side’s defensive record is great – the joint-fourth best in the league in fact – but scoring goals at the other end has proved to be a struggle.

Despite adding Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca to the ranks over the summer, West Ham have scored just 12 goals this season. Only Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Everton have scored less.
David Moyes will hope that Cornet’s return adds another source of goals to his squad. Cornet adds pace, skill, creativity and goals to any side and West Ham are desperately needing some attacking inspiration after a flat first half of the season.
If Moyes can successfully manage him through the upcoming friendly matches and make sure Cornet is fit and firing for the Premier League’s return then he can play a big part in the team hopefully climbing up the standings.
