West Ham United given Thomas Frank answer after Tottenham twist
Thomas Frank would prefer a move to Tottenham over West Ham United if he decides to leave Brentford, TEAMtalk reports.
According to the news outlet’s website [13 December], the Hammers have Frank on the shortlist of potential Julen Lopetegui replacements, but the German is more tempted by the prospect of managing in North London.
The Brentford boss has been touted to make the switch to East London, and the possibility of Frank appearing in the dugout remains a distinct possibility amid the £9million buyout clause in his contract at the Gtech [The Telegraph].
West Ham United must pip Tottenham to appoint Thomas Frank
Frank is an incredible manager, and if West Ham can beat Tottenham to his signature, David Sullivan should dismiss Lopetegui tomorrow.
The Spaniard is preparing to embark on the first of three make-or-break fixtures in East London and faces the daunting challenge of travelling to the Vitality Stadium needing to take three points off Bournemouth [Sky Sports].
However, there is no smoke without fire – Graham Potter, Edin Terzic, Roger Schmidt, Sergio Conceicao, and Massimiliano Allegri are all on the shortlist as the Hammers prepare for the worst-case scenario.
Former Juventus boss Allegri is by far the most illustrious name on the list and is attracted by the rebuild project needed at the London Stadium should Lopetegui be shown the door, but still, the Italian is untested on English shores.

Therefore, if Sullivan wants immediate results, Frank would be the more realistic and cost-effective option for the Hammers – the German has worked wonders in West London, after all.
Manchester United were interested in Frank before appointing Ruben Amorim, and now, with Tottenham in the mix, Frank is destined to go right to the top.
The supporters are desperately crying out for a manager they can all get behind, and the charismatic German across London has the potential to change West Ham’s fortunes dramatically. But while Lopetegui remains at the helm, all the talk is merely speculation.
