West Ham United: Gabby Agbonlahor moots Jarrod Bowen Euros call ahead of Wolves clash
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that, if Jarrod Bowen keeps up his goalscoring form with West Ham, he could book himself a place in the England squad for Euro 2024.
The former Aston Villa striker hinted that Bowen’s form will keep him in Gareth Southgate’s plans, while the quality in the West Ham squad could cause trouble for Wolves on Sunday 17 December.
Making his prediction for West Ham v Wolves in the Premier League, Agbonlahor predicted the Hammers will have too much for Wolves to deal with, and will run out as 3-2 winners.
Speaking to talkSPORT with his Premier League predictions [14 December], Agbonlahor shared: “West Ham host Wolves. I think this will be a tough game for West Ham, I really feel like Wolves, when they’re on it, Gary O’Neill is doing great work there, they can put in a performance any day of the week.
“But, I feel like Paqueta, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Kudus as well… Bowen is going to want to keep scoring to book his place at the Euros. I think they’ll have a bit too much for Wolves on that big old pitch.
“I’m going to go with a 3-2 to West Ham.”
Bowen can write his own destiny
It has become clear that Southgate is a fan of Bowen, having included him in his last two squads for England’s international fixtures, so his fate should be in his own hands. If the Hammers’ star man can keep up his form, he should go to the Euros.
There has been frustration at the London Stadium this season surrounding the England boss’ apparent refusal to select James Ward-Prowse for his squad despite the form of the midfielder, but Bowen has proved there is no anti-West Ham bias at play.

His nine goals and one assist from 15 appearances so far this season have made him undroppable at the London Stadium while having scored in all seven away games so far saw him set a new Premier League record.
Bowen will look to keep up his flying form as Wolves visit the London Stadium, and as Agbonlahor suggests, the star players in Moyes’ squad can cause issues for any team, with the winger in particular on form.
In other West Ham news, Southampton could be tempted to sell a star player to the Hammers.
