Rio Ferdinand full of praise for West Ham United forward Gianluca Scamacca after goal against Wolves

Rio Ferdinand rhapsodized over West Ham United forward Gianlucas Scamacca’s performance and goal against Wolves on Sunday afternoon.

David Moyes finally gave Scamacca the nod to start in the Premier League and the Italian repaid his manager’s faith with a sublime goal.

Ferdinand loved the “mad” goal from the Italian international and admitted that he “liked” the West Ham United summer signing.

Speaking on his latest Five Live YouTube show, Ferdinand applauded the forward’s terrific goal at the London Stadium, one that may change the tide of the London club’s campaign.

“What a strike (from Scamacca),” Ferdinand said.

“Mad strike. Yeah, I like him as well. West Ham needed that.”

Push on.

And breathe, Scamacca’s sublime goal in the Hammers 2-0 win over Wolves was exactly what he and the club needed after a tricky start to the season.

Now West Ham need to push on and improve on their weak performances and become a side to be reckoned with once again in the Premier League.

The Irons invested heavily in Scamacca and other top talents this summer so it’s nice to see some good performances from them on Sunday afternoon.

Now, Moyes must start Scamacca moving forward, especially after his goal on Sunday, the Italian forward offers the London club a solid focal point to start their attacks.

It would also be a waste to spend a large sum of money on a striker only to bench him on any given occasion, something which Moyes had done with the Italian until Sunday afternoon.

West Ham may have finally found their man to take the burden of goals off of Michail Antonio’s shoulders, let’s hope he gets a good run of games to prove his worth.
