Opta stat accentuates West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen’s love for playing at home

Jarrod Bowen has had a rotten campaign on a whole for West Ham United this season but seemed to get his season back on track, scoring the second in a 2-0 win against Wolves.

OptaJoe released an interesting stat after Bowen grabbed his goal, one that highlights the forward’s love for the Hammer’s home crowd.

It comes as no surprise that Bowen reacts well to the raucous London Stadium fans and the forward will have to draw from this stat to reignite his season further.

OptaJoe, the official number one spot for statistics concerning English football had its say on Bowen’s goal against Wolves and alluded to the fact that he loves scoring at home.

“82% – 18 of Jarrod Bowen’s 22 Premier League goals for West Ham have come in home games (82%) – of all players to have scored at least 20 times in the competition, only Georginio Wijnaldum (85%) and Michael Carrick (83%) have scored a higher share in home games. Tendency.”

Interesting stuff from the West Ham winger and a stat David Moyes should look to exploit in the Hammers home games this campaign.

West Ham United

Bowen back?

Bowen’s painful start to the campaign came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as the winger grabbed a goal and looked back to his menacing best.

He displayed his pacey, direct and ruthless style of play throughout the fixture and gave Hammers a huge sigh of relief that he may be past his best.

Bowen’s goal was a tidy finish too, something he’ll need to do more of if West Ham have any hopes of gaining European football for next season.

West Ham United now need to keep their prized asset fit and ready to take on the hectic cluster of fixtures coming up, they’ll need him at his very best.

And with an England World Cup squad place now looking unlikely for Bowen, he’ll have the chance to get some much-needed rest in 7 weeks’ time.

Fingers crossed this is the start of the winger regaining his good form, his contributions have been sorely missed at the start of this campaign.
