West Ham United Premier League fixture with Manchester City could be postponed

West Ham United could have their Premier League clash against Manchester City on 19 March postponed and moved to a later date, according to The West Ham Way.

The report claims that if either West Ham United or the Citizens progress past the fifth round of the FA Cup the game at the Etihad stadium will likely be called off until a future date is agreed.

The Hammers are heading to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the domestic cup competition whilst Pep Guardiola’s side will face Bristol City.

“West Ham are set to face Manchester City on Sunday 19th March, however results elsewhere could well see the match moved to a later date,” as quoted by The West Ham Way. (7 February)

“Both Manchester City and West Ham are in the fifth round of the FA Cup, however, if either side are able to advance to the next phase of the competition, then the fixture at the Etihad in the Premier League is likely to be postponed.

“Pep Guardiola’s Citizens face Bristol City whilst our Hammers head to Old Trafford once again to face Manchester United in a domestic cup competition. Should City advance and we fail to, then it could mean that West Ham have a fixture-free weekend rather than face the champions.”

West Ham

Up turn.

Moyes and West Ham United have enjoyed an upturn in form and results recently something which was needed after the club’s awful start to the campaign.

The Hammers are still sitting in 16th place, which isn’t great viewing, however, it’s a nicer sight than that of the dreaded relegation zone.

Three wins, two draws and one loss have been recorded so far in 2023 and there is now definitely some momentum to build on to get things going again.

New signings now seem to be settling down slightly, something which will undoubtedly help Moyes’ team in the second half of the season.

Two London derbies face the Hammers this month with Chelsea this weekend followed by a trip to North London to face Antonio Conte’s Spurs.

Both of these games should provide a decent insight into where this Hammers team are currently at and both fixtures are definitely winnable after recent outings.
