West Ham United fear Arsenal swoop for Tim Steidten after new developments

West Ham United fear Tim Steidten could be under consideration to replace Edu as Arsenal’s sporting director, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via its website on 7 November that the Irons would want to keep their technical director if the Gunners or any other club made an offer for him.

West Ham’s stance comes as a surprise as there have been suggestions that Steidten is under increasing pressure at the London Stadium (TBR Football).

West Ham United fear Arsenal swoop for Tim Steidten

In one of the most surprising pieces of news from the Premier League this week, Edu announced his decision to leave his role as Arsenal’s sporting director.

The Brazilian will serve a six-month notice period before leaving office, leaving the North London giants with ample time to find a replacement.

There does not appear to be a favourite to replace Edu yet, but West Ham are worried their London rivals might come calling for Steidten.

The German’s reputation has taken a hit since taking charge as the Hammers’ technical director in 2023, with his recent transfer business coming in for a lot of criticism.

The Hammers spent over £100million in the summer, but are yet to see the benefits of it, with the club sitting fourteenth in the table after 10 games.

It is also worth noting that Julen Lopetegui was not Steidten’s preferred choice to replace David Moyes, although he agreed with the decision.

There could be plenty of twists on the horizon at the London Stadium, it seems.

In other West Ham news, Graham Potter has emerged as a potential option to replace Lopetegui.
