FA Cup final fate beckons for West Ham United before Manchester United clash on Wednesday
FA Cup final fate may be beckoning for West Ham United ahead of their clash in the competition with Manchester United on Wednesday, according to Daily Mail journalist Matt Barlow.
Speaking in Daily Mail The Verdict (pg 16, 27 February), Barlow alluded to the fact that Bolton have booked in a return for the Papa John’s Trophy Final marking the centenary of the first FA Cup final where they beat West Ham in 1923.
Bolton beat West Ham United 2-0 on the day in the first final to be held at Wembley Stadium and Barlow confessed David Moyes and co could be on course for another trip to Wembley by beating high-flying United.

“To mark the centenary of the first Wembley FA Cup final, Bolton, the winners 100 years ago, have booked in for a return in the Papa John’s trophy final,” said Barlow as quoted by Daily Mail The Verdict (pg 16, 27 February)
“West Ham, losing finalists in 1923, are at Manchester United in the fifth round on Wednesday. Is fate beckoning for David Moyes and the Hammers?”

Tough ask.
Cup clashes don’t come much harder than against Manchester United right now with the Red Devils absolutely flying under Erik ten Hag.
Moyes and West Ham United will be praying for some FA Cup magic and some good luck to be on their side as they tackle the monstrous challenge.
An improved performance and result in the Premier League this past weekend against Nottingham Forest puts the Hammers in good stead to do just that.
The Irons looked far more like themselves at the London Stadium, with January signing Danny Ings stealing the show and proving just what he can provide to Moyes’ setup.
Nevertheless, performances like this need to be seen on a regular for fans to place their faith back in Moyes for the foreseeable.
The Scot is still standing on a tightrope in East London and a damning loss against Manchester United on Wednesday could be the final straw.
