Sean Dyche very unlikely to get West Ham United manager job if David Moyes sacked

Sean Dyche is very unlikely to get the managers job at West Ham United should David Moyes be sacked, according to Claret and Hugh.

The club seem desperate for Moyes to turn things around and are giving the Scot every opportunity to do just that at this moment in time.

A key West Ham United insider revealed to Claret and Hugh that the club still want Moyes to come good out of all of this and links to Dyche taking over are wide of the mark.

“West Ham have revealed exclusively to Claret and Hugh that Sean Dyche is a highly improbable managerial target for the Irons,” as quoted by Claret and Hugh. (19 January)

“Immediate speculation that Dyche could be a favoured target began almost to the minute that Danny Ings was revealed as being on his way to the club.

“Ings was under Dyche management for four seasons at Burnley before moving on to Liverpool, Saints and Villa.

“Having had his best years under Dyche it was believed that this was a big clue as to whom the Hammers would appoint if forced to sack Moyes.

“But a key insider made it clear to us that Dyche was really not in the frame for a job with us saying: ‘Sean Dyche very unlikely. We still hope David Moyes comes good’.”

For the best.

Appointing Dyche in the short term might have been a solid appointment, with emphasis on the word “might” there but long-term it would have felt like a step backwards.

With the players West Ham United have at their disposal, it would have been hard to see how Dyche would have gotten the best out of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca with his Brexit brand of football.

Moyes is getting every opportunity possible at the moment to make things right again at the London Stadium, something which seems to have angered fans even more.

But for the job he has done in East London, isn’t this deserved? A loss against Everton on 21 January and his sacking would be fair enough, however, he deserves that match to gain some redemption.

It looks like the hierarchy have no list of managers they would want to come in and replace Moyes anyway and a lack of direction should the club sack him would only cause further problems.

An interim manager just isn’t the remedy to fight relegation and sticking put until a replacement is found would be West Ham United’s best bet.
