West Ham United duo pictured in training after injury concerns

West Ham United will travel back to Denmark for the second time this season on Thursday for the Europa Conference League against Silkeborg.

The Hammers have already been and beaten Viborg on Danish soil and a similar result this time around would be exactly what the doctor ordered for David Moyes.

Speaking of doctors, it’s good news for Moyes and West Ham fans as two players have been spotted training as the club posted a gallery of images on their official website.

Both Craig Dawson, who has been out of action all season so far, and Maxwel Cornet were seen on the lush green grass of Rush Green along with the rest of the first team squad ahead of Thursday’s clash.

A decision on whether either player will start or even feature against the Danes is yet to be made with the game still three days away but the likelihood would be that they will travel the day before so Moyes must make the call before the plane takes off.

Huge boost

With momentum starting to gather at the London Stadium, the return of Dawson in particular is exactly what was needed to keep the club heading forwards and not stalling where they are.

The 32-year-old is the most solid defender at West Ham and while he may not possess the technical ability of Kurt Zouma or Thilo Kehrer, he stops the ball going in the goal and that’s what he’s paid to do.

Cornet has been involved in most games since he came in but a slight scare with injury has seemingly passed through with no more concerns.

If there is an element of risk involved on his part, as there surely will be with Dawson, then Moyes should be taking no risks in a European game that is not as important as the upcoming Premier League fixtures.

The Irons have a tough assignment away at a resurgent Everton on Sunday and Cornet could be the difference maker in that match so they can’t afford to lose him to an aggravated knock on Thursday.
