West Ham United dispute agent fee over Carlos Borges transfer as hijack news emerges – ExWHUemployee

The transfer of Carlos Borges from Manchester City to West Ham is on the verge of collapsing, according to ExWHUemployee.

Reporting on his Patreon on Tuesday (1 August), Ex noted that the Hammers were not happy with the fee concerning the player’s agent as they negotiated the final terms for the player.

And that has allowed Ajax to make a last minute move for the winger, who banged in 29 goals from his 33 appearances in all competitions among Manchester City’s youth ranks last season.

West Ham

“Whilst West Ham were finalising the deal for Carlos Borges with his agent it appears that Ajax have made a last minute move for the player and now he could be set to join them,” Ex wrote on his Patreon. “West Ham were said to be still negotiating the final terms with his agent and were not happy on the agent fee.

“The deal was still needing finer details to be sorted out before getting over the line and obviously no medical had taken place so this was always something that could happen and has happened to us before as we take our time with transfers.

“We will look to get further confirmation on his situation throughout the day but it does appear that the player is now more likely to join Ajax unless West Ham can pull something out of the bag quickly.”

Massive blow

This latest development regarding Borges is a massive blow for the Hammers, who have seemingly had no luck in terms of incomings in the current summer transfer window.

The very exciting winger has a hugely bright future ahead of him after his heroics in the final third in the youth setup at Manchester City last season.

West Ham can only really blame themselves, particularly as this has happened before, as Ex alluded to. Moreover, knowing another club could have swooped in like Ajax have done should have sped proceedings up at the London Stadium

If Borges does end up choosing Ajax over West Ham, hopefully the powers that be at the latter can learn from this and be much quicker in getting future deals over the line.

The East London club should be focusing on a new midfielder this summer after losing Declan Rice to Arsenal, but there is no doubt that Borges could have lit up the final third in claret and blue next season.

In other West Ham news, a Hammers player has emerged as a “cheaper” option in one European club’s pursuit of a new striker, according to Fabrizio Romano.
