West Ham United defender Ben Johnson could face Wolves

West Ham United defender Ben Johnson could be in contention to face Wolverhampton Wanderers after the international break, as per Claret and Hugh.

The reliable Hammers source has suggested that the defender has got a fifty-fifty chance to make the squad for the game against Wolves at the London Stadium this weekend.

The 22-year-old has been suffering from a hamstring injury, but he is on the mend.

Improvements needed

The Hammers need to improve after the international break. They have spent big this summer, but the results have been very poor.

David Moyes’s side find themselves 18th in the Premier League table at the moment, and they need to climb up the ladder after a poor start.

Johnson is a fantastic talent but he has this peculiar habit of picking injuries every now and then. He missed quite a few games last season as well.

West Ham United

The Hammers do have depth in their full-back areas. Vladimir Coufal is almost certain to start if Johnson fails to recover. In all probability, Coufal will start.

Claret and Hugh suggest that Johnson has only an outside chance of making it to the squad against Wolves. In that case, Moyes is unlikely to use him.

Moyes has spent big on defenders this summer, but the injury to Nayef Aguerd has hampered his plans. Thilo Kehrer and Kurt Zouma are likely to link up, once again.
