West Ham United defender Ben Johnson hungrily anticipates clash v Liverpool

West Ham United defender Ben Johnson is relishing the opportunity to play Liverpool in front of a jam-packed Anfield crowd on Wednesday evening.

The Irons head to Merseyside unbeaten in five games in all competitions and will fancy their chances against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Johnson admitted West Ham needs to go “toe-to-toe” with the Merseyside giants and have to give one hundred percent if they face any chance of gaining three points.

West Ham

“One hundred percent, [we can go there and have a go],” said Johnson, as quoted by whufc.com.

“The last few times we’ve been there, we’ve been unfortunate with the results, during COVID and last season as well, when we lost one-nil

“All the lads will be up for it in that atmosphere and to play in such a fantastic stadium against fantastic players, so we’ll go toe-to-toe with them.”

West Ham

Pumped.

After some less-than-impressive football early on in the season for the Hammers things finally look like they have clicked.

Liverpool will be a major test to see where West Ham United are currently at, it doesn’t come much harder than an away trip to Anfield.

It’s one of the Premier League’s biggest tests and if David Moyes’s side can come out of it unscathed they will be on for a decent campaign.

The Merseyside outfit are missing some big players at the moment, with Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota both out with long-term injuries, this gives the Irons a major boost.

West Ham will still need to be at their very best, but an in-form Gianluca Scamcca and Lucas Paqueta will cause problems for any top Premier League team.

This promises to be an exciting mid-week clash, hopefully, the Hammers can scrape some points from it, they will certainly cause Liverpool some problems.
