West Ham United dealt Thilo Kehrer injury blow, he’s ruled out for up to three weeks
West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer is facing up to three weeks on the injury treatment table, following his withdrawal from the clash at Newcastle United, according to Claret and Hugh.
The Germany international was withdrawn at half-time from the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Saturday at St James’ Park and replaced by Ben Johnson.
Earlier, a top source [7 February] informed Claret and Hugh that there were worries the defender could miss this weekend’s London derby clash with Chelsea at the London Stadium, with David Moyes not wanting to take any risks.

Now, the Hammers have certainly suffered a significant blow with a crucial run of games to come in the coming weeks. According to Claret and Hugh [7 February], Kehrer is facing “between two & three weeks out”.
Huge blow
Following the injury to Kurt Zouma, and the sale of Craig Dawson to Wolverhampton Wanderers during the January transfer window, this latest update comes as a huge blow to the Hammers faithful and Moyes.
With the former Everton manager now preferring a 3-man defence, it leaves him short on centre-backs comfortable playing such a system and having to rely on Ben Johnson to fill in for the time being.

The Hammers academy product certainly showed he’s capable of filling in if required, after a strong cameo against the Magpies at the weekend, and with his starting spot in Moyes’ first 11 in real jeopardy, Kehrer’s injury certainly hands him a big opportunity to stake his claim for a permanent berth in the team.
The ball is certainly in his court to impress, can he take advantage?
