West Ham United: David Moyes to make Michail Antonio decision after injury news emerges
David Moyes will call upon Michail Antonio to lead the line in the Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen after Jarrod Bowen’s injury blow, according to The Athletic.
The sports news outlet reported on 10 April that the Jamaican has shown his importance to the team with recent displays and will now be selected to start in the Europa League.
Antonio had been left on the bench for the clash against Wolves at Molineux last weekend, but came on at half-time and changed the game as the Hammers won 2-1.
Michail Antonio set to start for West Ham v Bayer Leverkusen
Antonio has been at the centre of plenty of conversations around West Ham in recent weeks. After he was subbed off against Newcastle, questions were asked about the choice, and then he changed the game coming from the bench against Wolves.
A starting role against Leverkusen should give the striker the opportunity to prove he deserves more regular first-team football rather than Moyes’ chopping and changing as he has done in recent weeks.
Frank McAvennie recently insisted that Antonio should be starting alongside Bowen as they complement each other’s games perfectly with Bowen dropping deeper and Antonio using his physical prowess to dominate defenders.

The Jamaican has also been linked with an exit from the London Stadium recently and he could be tempted to walk away if Bowen becomes the preferred number nine under Moyes, as McAvennie exclusively told West Ham Zone.
