West Ham United: David Moyes sack update as it is hard to see way back now

It is really hard to see a way back for David Moyes at West Ham United now after yet another defeat against Brentford on Friday 30 December, according to Jacob Steinberg.

The Guardian journalist insisted that the Irons were sleepwalking to Premier League relegation after another shocker in the 2-0 defeat against their London rivals.

The London Stadium turned very quickly with fans leaving in their thousands throughout, something which still didn’t save Moyes from facing the music during and after the game.

Writing on his personal Twitter account after the game, Steinberg did not pull any strings when assessing the future of the Scotsman at the London Stadium.

“Can’t really see a way back for David Moyes after tonight,” he wrote. “That was really bad from West Ham.

“Moyes has done a really good job for West Ham but I’m not sure it can go on. Sleepwalking into relegation at this rate. Team just isn’t what it was a year ago.”

Time To Go.

Managers do not always have to leave on bad notes.

If Moyes sticks around even longer and this shocking run of not only form, but football continues, he will stick around longer enough to become a villain.

This is a man who has turned things around in his second spell at the club, making the Hammers contenders in Europe, but we are now staring down the barrel of a loaded gun.

Moyes’ system is simply not working and that is mainly due to the fact that he doesn’t have a clue what his best starting side is after spending so much money in the summer.

The new players are clearly not in their best roles, and we don’t think Moyes even knows how to use them, something that is very worrying given the expenditure laid out.

GSBK need to really start evaluating what is happening at West Ham United, a choice is needed before it becomes too late at the London Stadium, and that may mean Moyes is packing his bags.
