West Ham United: David Moyes pushing hard for Jesse Lingard return
West Ham United boss David Moyes is “pushing hard” to bring Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium according to 90min.
The Evening Standard reported on Monday 27 June that the Hammers are waiting on the 29-year-old’s decision after firming their interest up with a formal offer for the soon-to-be free agent.
According to 90min on Tuesday 28 June, Moyes is pushing the club hierarchy to secure a deal for the attacking midfielder and is confident of a positive outcome.

It is understood that if the Hammers do sign Lingard, he’d earn over £100,000-a-week and be one of the club’s highest-paid players.
Is he the answer?
Whether a 29-year-old Lingard is the answer to all of West Ham’s problems remains to be seen.
However, if the West Ham boss decides to offload some of his younger assets in order to fund the 29-year-old’s return then something is seriously wrong.
Said Benrahma is an example of a player whose future remains in doubt with The Sun reporting on 8 June that Moyes has grown frustrated with the midfielder and is ready to offload him this summer.
Benrahma’s attacking output was amongst the highest at the London Stadium, so offloading the 26-year-old to make room for Lingard just doesn’t make sense.

Lingard has spent most of the 2021/22 season sitting on the Manchester United bench.
Based on his current form Lingard doesn’t deserve to be amongst the Hammers’ highest earners.
90min suggested that the 29-year-old could earn in excess of £100,000 a week at the London Stadium, which would be absurd if true.
Let’s hope West Ham can secure a reasonable deal for Lingard and that he can rediscover his mesmeric form from the 2020/21 season.
