West Ham United: David Moyes decision already sack decision may be already made
Garth Crooks has hinted that the West Ham board may already have made their decision on David Moyes’ future at the London Stadium after a lack of investment in January.
The BBC Sport pundit suggested that the low spending proved Moyes is no longer of value to the club and they will now wait for his contract to run down.
West Ham brought Kalvin Phillips in as their solitary January signing, but given their fears over Financial Fair Play breaches, plenty of teams were reluctant to spend.
Writing via his BBC Sport Team of the Week column [20 February], Crooks shared: “It was a good win for Forest and another setback for David Moyes.
“The lack of investment in the team by the board suggests Moyes is no longer of value to the club and they are waiting for his contract to run down. That’s the professional game for you.”
Have the West Ham board made a decision on David Moyes?
The lack of investment in January will certainly be a frustration to the boss, especially since both Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals were moved on, cutting the depth of the squad dramatically.
However, given that shortly after the January transfer window ended, Moyes confirmed that he was set to resume contract negotiations with the board, any claim that a call was made in January looks to be wide of the mark.

With contract talks having stalled as a result of the recent form, it could be suggested that the board are more at fault than Moyes for the situation they have found themselves in given the lack of investment.
Alan Pardew and Graeme Souness had a disagreement on talkSPORT when discussing the arrival of Phillips, with the only January signing at the London Stadium failing to impress.
In other West Ham news, players are reportedly unhappy with the manager.
