Roshane Thomas shares West Ham United stance on David Moyes future

West Ham are still yet to open talks with David Moyes over extending his contract at London Stadium, according to Roshane Thomas.

The journalist reported for The Athletic on Thursday (26 October) that Moyes’ future is the biggest talking point at West Ham with regards to new contracts.

Former Manchester United manager Moyes, now in his second spell with the Hammers, is due to be out of contract at the end of the season.

“The main issue? Manager David Moyes is out of contract next summer and talks over a contract extension are yet to take place,” Thomas said.

Stick or twist?

The longer the season goes on, the more Moyes will be questioning just how much those high up at the club actually want to keep him on board.

Moyes deserves massive credit for what he has achieved at West Ham, namely guiding the club to Europa Conference League success earlier this year.

As Rio Ferdinand said this week [Daily Star, 25 October], it is “mad” that some were calling for the Scotsman’s head on the back of that triumph.

After a disappointing run of Premier League results over the past month, it seems like the same debate will soon come up again: Stick or twist?

A certain section of the fanbase will not be happy until Moyes is replaced by a bigger name, feeling that there is even more to come from this side.

On the opposite side of the coin, it may well be that Moyes is wondering if he could take on another job if he is not wanted in East London.

It is far from a stable situation right now, and the Hammers board could do with making a decision on Moyes’ future one way or another.
