West Ham United could sign Aston Villa defender Calum Chambers on transfer deadline day
West Ham United could sign Aston Villa defender Calum Chambers in a transfer deadline day move, according to the Daily Mail, print edition, pg 69. (31 January)
The report claims that Everton’s Michael Keane is also another potential target for West Ham United alongside the Villa defender.
Cover at centre-back will be the Hammers priority on transfer deadline day as they look to bolster David Moyes’ options at the back.

“Cover at centre back. Everton’s Keane is a possible or Aston Villa’s Chambers,” as quoted by the Daily Mail, print edition, pg 69. (31 January)
“Harrison Ashby has gone to Newcastle United. David Moyes wants Michail Antonio to stay.”

Interesting.
Bolstering the defence for the Hammers seems to be the agenda on deadline day and moves for centre-backs could definitely be made.
Chambers is arguably a more exciting move than Keane, although, the Everton defender would bring with him to the London Stadium a lot of experience.
And maybe that’s what the Hammers need right now? They are in the midst of a Premier League relegation dogfight and every veteran member of the squad will be needed.
Especially after losing Craig Dawson to Wolves earlier in the transfer window, he was a character and presence which is almost too hard to replace.
Nevertheless, it seems the void he has left will be getting filled by someone today and that could potentially be Chambers or Keane.
Keane seems like more of a Moyes kind of player than Chambers and would make more sense with the player wanting more playing time than he’s been getting at Goodison Park.
