West Ham United could seal £100million deal after sponsorship and stadium news

West Ham United could seal a new £100million mega deal with a new sponsorship deal after news broke this week surrounding the London Stadium, according to 6Foot2.

The online outlet has reported on its website that combining a new sponsor with the naming rights for the London Stadium could see a £20million-a-year deal signed over five years.

It comes after it was revealed that LLDC would sell the naming rights for the London Stadium to West Ham for only £4million-per-year this week [Simon Stone].

Many Premier League clubs have benefitted from stadium naming rights in recent years, with Manchester City and Arsenal the perfect examples.

Etihad Airlines are said to pay £67.5million each year alone for that right, with Emirates paying Arsenal £200million over five years too, with £40million coming in each season.

Those are crazy numbers, and given the size and the attendance of the London Stadium, it would be perfect for brands to lump on, with the likes of Amazon even being suggested.

Betway currently pay £10million-per-year for sponsorship alone, but with betting companies likely to be soon banned from that, the door could open.

West Ham

Wow.

We know a couple of people, especially who would be rubbing their hands together at a potential deal worth this much over the coming years.

Daniel Kretinsky is now obviously in the mix with more money, and could even buy out David Gold and Sullivan before something like this becomes possible.

But, for now, these are the types of deals that will keep GSB at the London Stadium, with the possibility of huge companies such as Amazon getting involved, although that is all speculation.

Doubling the sponsorship deal currently with Betway and constantly improving that has to be the goal for more windfall, and what better way than adding in the naming rights?

For only £4million-per-year, West Ham United could make serious profit instantly and we have seen the likes of Barcelona do that this summer with Spotify.

Nothing is concrete and won’t be for some time, but isn’t it fun to imagine how big this could be for the club – bring it on.
