West Ham United could look to push bargain £38m price down even further for Arnaut Danjuma

West Ham United could look to lower the £38million release clause of Villareal star Arnaut Danjuma this summer, according to Ryan Taylor.

The Express journalist has reported that the Hammers have interest in the Dutch international, and are weighing up a blockbuster summer swoop at the London Stadium.

It is said that any move could still depend on the future of Said Benrahma who could be leaving the Irons after a disappointing spell under David Moyes.

Writing in his weekly Tuesday transfer column, Taylor shared the latest on any potential swoop from the Irons for the flying Dutchman.

“West Ham are interested in a move for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma and the Yellow Submarine ideally need to sell the winger this summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League,” he wrote.

“Sources have confirmed to Express Sport that the Hammers are weighing up a swoop for the Dutchman, although there is nothing concrete to their interest as of yet.

“Express Sport understands the 25-year-old has a release clause worth in the region of £38m (€45m) and that could prove to be a bargain for the Hammers, although they are keen to negotiate a deal at a cheaper price.”

Can’t fund them all.

The Daily Mail has already reported that Benrahma could be sold in order to fund a move for Chelsea wonder Armando Broja, so which one is it going to be?

Even if we look to bring in the amount we paid for him, the Algerian is only going to fund one of these moves, unless Moyes sees Danjuma as a player who can play centrally in the final third.

That would offer great competition for Michail Antonio, but we would much prefer a move for an out-and-out striker as well as Danjuma who can take the spot of Benrahma should he move on.

GSB and Daniel Kretinsky have made money available, but the cheaper we can get these deals, the more players we can technically bring in between now and the start of September.

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out, but if Villareal need to sell, this could easily work.
