West Ham United could explore deal for Everton defender Michael Keane
West Ham United “could explore” a January move for Everton defender Michael Keane with David Moyes looking to bolster his defensive options, according to 90min.
It’s understood the 29-year-old is a “potential target” if West Ham allow Craig Dawson to leave the club in the January window (90min, 30 November).
Claret and Hugh (18 November) suggest the Hammers have made a last-ditch contract attempt to keep Dawson at the club beyond the January window.

A striker is also believed to be on the agenda for Moyes with the Hammers’ summer additions struggling to adapt to life at the London Stadium.
Like for like
If Keane does join the club it will be a like-for-like replacement for Dawson, with the 32-year-old desperate to move back up north nearer his family. Kurt Zouma’s injury could also force the Scot’s hand in the transfer market, with the Frenchman set to be sidelined for a considerable period of time.

It will be interesting to see if the board back the West Ham boss in the upcoming transfer window with a number of Moyes’ summer signings failing to adjust to life in the Premier League. It would be an expensive risk for the board to give the Scot another large transfer kitty.
There should also be some hope for the summer additions to find their form in the second half of the season. Gianluca Scamacca has shown moments in a Claret and Blue shirt and could well thrive in the latter stages of the campaign. The same can be said of Lucas Paqueta who will also be looking to kick on for the Hammers.
