West Ham United could be tempted into a bid for Leicester City star Youri Tielemans this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.
The reliable source has reported that the Belgian international is one to “keep your eyes on” as he gets set to enter the final year of his current deal at the King Power Stadium.
It was believed that Tielemans was set to join Arsenal, but that could go cold after the arrival of Fabio Vieira and a move being close for Gabriel Jesus to sign.
Speaking in the latest West Ham Way Podcast over on Patreon, Ex shared one potential player to keep an eye on for the Irons faithful over the next two months.
“Another interesting midfielder as well, his situation is a bit in the air but could tempt us to make a move if other clubs don’t soon is Youri Tielemans of Leicester,” he said.
“He was meant to be joining Arsenal, but Arsenal have signed Vieira, slightly different players and I think they may still be in for Tielemans, but it would be interesting to see if they don’t, what would happen to him because he’s only got a year left on his contract.
“It would be a bargain there to potentially have – keep your eyes on that one.”
Priority.
One word – midfield.
A new signing in the middle of the park is desperately needed at the London Stadium, nearly as much as the need for a new striker alongside that in this window.
Tielemans would be perfect too, with the Belgian maestro offering something completely different to what Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek currently give David Moyes.
With Mark Noble retiring and Alex Kral returning to Spartak Moscow after his shocker of a loan spell, reinforcements are desperately needed for depth, as well as competition.
The Belgian gives us something we haven’t had for years, and it is that silkiness that can lead to double figures in goals and assists from midfield.
Imagine Tielemans ahead of both Soucek and Rice holding and that could be a formidable midfield trio for opposition clubs to deal with, especially if he becomes available for cheap.
