West Ham United consider Carlos Corberan as David Moyes successor if he gets sacked
West Ham are looking at West Brom boss Carlos Corberan as a potential successor for David Moyes if they choose to sack David Moyes, say The Sun.
Moyes has come under plenty of pressure as manager at the London Stadium after seeing the club plunge into a relegation battle despite spending £170m during the summer transfer window.
But while his job isn’t in immediate danger, a report in The Sun (11 January) claims that the Hammers are keeping tabs on Corberan as a potential successor should they need to pull the trigger in the near future.

Corberan took over from Steve Bruce at The Hawthorns in November and has helped them climb out of the relegation zone in the Championship where they now sit just one point off the playoff places.
That has caught the attention of the bosses in east London, and they view him as a potential candidate to replace Moyes in the future.
Interesting
Considering the report states numerous times that Moyes has the backing of the current board and owners, it’s interesting that they’re making plans for a potential exit.
Corberan made it to the playoff finals with Huddersfield last season only to be beaten in the final, and is now proving that it wasn’t a fluke with his tenure at the Baggies.

However it’s clear to see the time spent at Leeds with Marcelo Bielsa is paying off, and West Ham are being attentive towards potential solutions in case things do get worse and a decision needs to be made.
Corberan’s style isn’t too different from Moyes’, with a strong defence the foundation for everything but fresh eyes and ideas are something that could be needed, and it could make a possible arrival easier if the players are used to a similar style.
It’s certainly one to watch out for, but it would be a crazy turn of events if it happened this season considering Corberan only recently joined West Brom and is doing really well there.
