Sky Sports: West Ham United briefed by Premier League as EA Sports agree new £450m+ deal
West Ham United were briefed at a meeting on Friday 10 February that a new six-year partnership with EA Sports worth about £488m is close to being finalised, according to Sky Sports.
The report claims that one Premier League executive says it will deliver more than £80m annually and would consist of EA remaining as the league’s lead partner.
Sky Sports reports that it is this commercial strength that has helped convince would-be defectors to the European Super League that the Premier League is the most financially robust league in world football.

“The Premier League is closing in on a commercial deal with Electronic Arts (EA), the video-games maker, that would be worth close to £500m.
“Sky News has learnt the 20 Premier League clubs were briefed at a meeting on Friday a new six-year partnership with EA Sports worth about £488m is close to being finalised.
“One club executive said it would deliver more than £80m annually, and would consist of EA remaining as the league’s lead partner as well as retaining its exclusive electronic game licence.
“The lucrative extension is said to be worth more than double the existing deal involving the two parties.
“Sky Sports News understands it’s this commercial strength that has helped convince the would-be defectors who considered joining the European Super League in 2021 that the Premier League is the most financially robust league in world football.”

The greatest.
There has never been a better time to be an English club, with the Premier League towering over its European counterparts in just about every aspect of the game at the moment.
Lucrative deals like the one mentioned above with the New York-listed video game company, which has a market value of about $30bn (£24bn), only highlight this fact further.
It also shows why clubs in Serie A and La Liga are trying to force through their European Super League ideas to combat the English top flight’s utter dominance.
Money is being poured into the English game at an alarmingly quick rate whether fans like it or not and the January transfer window was further evidence of this.
This is something that isn’t likely to change anytime soon either, with Billion dollar valuations being placed upon teams such as Manchester United and Liverpool in recent months.
The competitive nature of the Premier League has never been higher, something West Ham United can profit from in the coming years.
