West Ham United close in on Nayef Aguerd, final talks over add-ons then announcement – Fabrizio Romano
West Ham United are in talks over the final details of the major signing of Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd, according to Fabrizio Romano on Saturday morning [04 June].
The journalist has reported that the final details regarding add-ons are being ironed out before the transfer is completed in the coming days.
A full agreement is said to be close for David Moyes to confirm and announce his first signing of the summer for the 2022-23 season.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Saturday morning [04 June], Romano shared the latest on the move for the Moroccan this week.
“West Ham are now getting closer to reaching full agreement with Rennes for Nayef Aguerd, negotiations progressing,” he wrote.
“Talks are underway – final details about add-ons then the deal can be completed.”
Here We Go.
This is the perfect start to the summer window.
Moyes has been crying out for more options in defence, and Aguerd will provide superb competition and more importantly depth after a year of horrid injury issues.
Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop and Craig Dawson have all had their issues at one point or another, leading to Aaron Cresswell having to play in that role before.
With a deal for Aguerd now all but done, all eyes will be on strengthening other areas of this squad.
Midfield has to be the next priority with Alex Kral returning to Spartak Moscow and Mark Noble retiring, leaving only Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek with no senior depth.
Moyes will be moving plates already with Rob Newman, and hopefully GSB along with Daniel Kretinsky can continue to make things happen early on in the window without having to wait until it’s too late.
