West Ham United captain Declan Rice has been blown away by Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham United captain Declan Rice has been blown away by Gianluca Scamacca since the Italian joined the Irons this summer.

Scamacca has hit a fine vein of form and is looking like the real deal, something that David Moyes and West Ham United can reap the rewards of.

Rice admitted that Scamacca is going to be “unbelievable” and thinks the forward is only going to get better and better as the campaign progresses.

“He’s going to be so good for this club. He’s so exciting, the way he plays,” said Rice as quoted by TalkSport.

“I can tell you now he’s going to be unbelievable.

“He’s so exciting, the way he plays. We just need to keep playing to his strengths but he’s one we can be excited about for sure. For me, when I look at him I think wow he’s a player that’s got something.”

High praise.

The comments from Rice are extremely good to hear and are the highest praise a teammate can receive from the captain of their club.

Scamacca has got off to a flyer in the Premier League and looks to be a real nuisance for defenders due to his physicality and huge frame.

The Italian seems to have finally got the approval of Moyes now too, with the Hammers manager seeming to choose him over long-time first-team forward option Michail Antonio.

It would be lovely to see the pair start a game together, but whether Moyes can change his formation and tactics to accommodate this remains to be seen.

Nevertheless, the Italy international has been forming a formidable partnership with Lucas Paqueta and the Irons finally look to have some creative sparks in their setup.

The future at the London Stadium is looking bright for Scamacca, next on his hit list is Bournemouth on Monday evening at home.
