West Ham United can add important bonuses to secure deal for Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham could be in the driving seat to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The famous pink newspaper reported on 13 July (print edition, page 16) that the Hammers could beat Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the Italy striker, if they can “add important bonuses”.

The Guardian reported on 12 July that the Hammers are in talks to sign the striker who scored 16 goals in Serie A last season, and it could take a bid up to £42m to secure his signature.

Situation

GDS reports that PSG are only willing to offer £30 million upfront and some bonuses.

However, the Hammers “plans” to come up with a bid of around £33 million as fixed payment, while they’re focussing more on the bonuses part.

The London outfit are planning to offer around £6m as bonuses relating to appearances, goals or team successes, and it could shift the balance in their favour. They can even raise their total offer by adding bonuses, which could “make the difference”.

Scamacca has grown into a fantastic talent and the Italian club are rightly demanding a high transfer fee for their top player.

Bolstering the forward department is a priority for the Hammers, and Scamacca would be a terrific addition.

Here is a player who can further grow into a top-class striker, and his best years are ahead of him. He would not only compete alongside Michail Antonio but would add significant depth and quality to the side.

Scamacca is not the only striker the club is looking at, with the likes of Ben Brereton Diaz and Armando Broja also being targeted.
