West Ham United boost as Diogo Jota almost certainly out of midweek clash
Liverpool are almost certain to be without attacker Diogo Jota when they take on West Ham United on Wednesday (19 October), according to David Ornstein.
The Portuguese international had to be stretchered off the field as Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield on Sunday (16 October).
The 25-year-old is booked in for a scan on Monday (17 October) to determine how bad his injury is and it could even rule him out of the Qatar World Cup in November.

West Ham themselves have injury concerns with central defenders at a premium but Angelo Ogbonna did manage to make the bench in their 1-1 draw away at Southampton.
The Irons moved up to 12th in the Premier League thanks to their point at St Mary’s while Klopp’s Liverpool are now in the top half having toppled Pep Guardiola’s Citizens in a fiery encounter.
Anything helps
The quality of attackers at Klopp’s disposal is frightening regardless of the injuries to Jota and Colombian winger Luis Diaz and capable of tearing a team to pieces on their day.
The West Ham defence is going to have a very tough evening at Anfield if Mohamed Salah finds his best form and Roberto Firmino is able to link play as well as he can.

That’s without considering the £85million man Darwin Nunez and exciting young talents Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalhowho can both produce a match-winning moment in the blink of an eye.
Moyes needs to hope for as many reinforcements as physically possible by the time they arrive on Merseyside to try and limit the potential damage.
The quality on show for the Irons is still very much good enough to be a real problem for the Reds with Brighton having gone to Anfield and scored three times earlier in the season, proving that they can be got at with the right tactics and personnel.
