West Ham United board consider severe relegation scenario as documents revealed

The strategic report of West Ham United with documents of financial accounts under the heading of ongoing concerns has been revealed.

It seems with David Moyes and the Hammers Premier League status looking far from certain, the club are looking at every potential scenario.

West Ham football revealed the financial documents on Twitter showing the club are considering the “severe” but plausible scenario of Premier League relegation.

“West Ham financial accounts under heading of ongoing concern worryingly say “in order to be prudent despite the current strong squad,” announced West Ham Football on Twitter.

“The Board has also considered a severe but plausible scenario. This scenario includes relegation at the end of the 2022-23 season.”

No need to panic.

As scary and threatening as the financial reports look, there is little need to panic just yet in this one, it’s very normal to have disclosure in statutory accounts.

All businesses should take up strategic planning, covering every possible scenario and West Ham United are no different and doing the right thing by doing so.

Fans and the Irons faithful should be more concerned by the current Premier League table than this, it’s a far more frightening sight.

Will Moyes keep on to his job any longer? With every passing league defeat, it’s looking less likely by the minute and there is a feeling in East London that change would be welcomed.

With top managerial talents on the market, it’s hard not to look past Moyes being the Irons manager any longer, just think what Thomas Tuchel could do with this squad.

The coming months will be telling in any potential changes, but it would be great to see someone come in before the January transfer window ends if Moyes does leave the club.
