West Ham United: BBC Sport pundit shocked by ‘clumsy’ Lucas Paqueta in England v Brazil
West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta has “more lives than a cat,” according to BBC Sport pundit Matt Upson.
The verdict came after the Hammers ace committed several fouls for Brazil in their meeting with England on Saturday (23 March).
The international friendly at Wembley finished 1-0 to Brazil after Endrick’s late winner, with the Three Lions now taking on Belgium in another Wembley friendly on Tuesday (26 March).
“That was Lucas Pacqueta again on John Stones,” Upson said on BBC Radio 5 Live (8.11pm, 23 March), as quoted by BBC Sport. “It’s a bit clumsy, he has more lives than a cat! None of them are bad fouls, they are just repetitive.”
West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta pulls the strings versus England
Paqueta has once again starred for the Hammers this season, with the midfielder now taking his creative skills to the international stage with Brazil.
He didn’t, of course, have very far to travel for the clash with England compared to many of his compatriots, with the midfielder only needing to make the short trip from East London to Wembley.
Paqueta almost bagged an early assist with his dinked through ball at the national stadium, but a surprisingly poor finish from Vinicius Junior let him down, with Kyle Walker there to pick up the loose ball.
It was an extremely busy match for the Hammers star, who also hit the woodwork and was shown a yellow card for a cynical foul in the opening 45 minutes, with many England players wanting him sent off for a similar offence shortly after.

But the referee kept his cards in his pocket on that occasion, with Paqueta certainly fond of a caution or two, as witnessed from his exciting spell in claret and blue so far.
In other West Ham news, Howard Webb and Michael Owen were in agreement over a “complicated” controversy in the recent clash with Aston Villa.
